Dodgers' Free Agents, Galaxy Chasing the Cup, Warriors Remain and More
33+ West Coast Headlines from the Pacific Time Zone This Week
Two MLS teams remain in the fight for the Cup, and one of them is from the West Coast.
The Galaxy defeated the Seattle Sounders, 1-0, last week. LA won their first Western Conference title and advanced to their first MLS Cup in a decade. It is one of the biggest turnarounds for an MLS club ever as the Galaxy missed the playoffs last year. Turns out, their turnaround all began with a fan-driven boycott a few years ago.
Still, Los Angeles will be without one of their best players when they take on the New York Red Bulls. Galaxy Midfielder Riqui Puig suffered a season-ending ACL injury versus the Sounders. Tune-in at 1 PM on Saturday for the bi-coastal MLS Championship.
As for the NBA Cup, the Warriors are the only Pacific Division team left. Golden State faces the Houston Rockets in the knockout round on Wed. Dec. 11 at 6:30 PM PT.
Otherwise, Los Angeles Dodgers fans got their first look at Blake Snell during his press conference this week. Los Angeles also re-signed Tommy Edman. This team is re-inventing free agency as they keep deferring contracts.
