Football Never Sleeps, New Knights, LeBron and More
NFL Free Agency 2024, Vegas Dominates the Trade Deadline and More Sports News from the West Coast this Week
Not sure what happened last week. This newsletter published on Substack but did not send via email. Unfortunately, this things happen when you’re a one-man shop.
Regardless, I’m looking to continue to grow the newsletter. I need new assets, I need to build out social media, I need to run some paid advertising, I need to update my twitter lists, my website needs some updating, I need to build a shared game calendar, and I am sure I am forgetting a bunch more. Let me know if you’re interested in volunteering some time to building the West Coast sports brand by the West Coast sports fan.
Either way, we’re back again this week with lots of news from the NFL and NHL. March Madness is starting up. Hockey and Hoops playoffs are almost here too.
Free Agency Frenzy
Once again, the NFL reminded us that football season never ends. This week, legal tampering opened. That allowed teams to negotiate contracts with free agents, ahead of the NFL starting a new year today.
Teams across the West Coast stayed active by making additions. Other teams also said peace to some big names. Here are some headlines from this week:
Raiders
49ers
Seahawks
Chargers
Rams

NHL Trade Happenings
Las Vegas already made headlines with a major trade for Anthony Mantha, last week. That didn’t stop the Golden Knights from adding the Sharks two-time all-star Tomas Hertl. Plus, the Knights traded for Noah Hanifin. Here’s more from the deadline last week:

Lakers Go Viral All Week
It was a big week for Lakers fans on social media. We all had jokes and thoughts when LeBron James went viral for his moment with Lakers owner Jeanie Buss. Apparently, James was just wishing Buss and Linda Rambis a Happy International Women’s Day.
LeBron, A.D. and former teammate Russell Westbrook also flexed at the Oscars this week. People caught that Kobe’s statue at the Crytpo.com arena has typos. Finally, the Lakers signed Logan Paul and drink brand PRIME to be their official sports drink.
Oh Yeah: The Lakers beat the Milwuakee Bucks as James sat on the sideline too.
