West Coast NFL Draft Recap, NBA Playoff recap, NHL results and 30+ headlines from the Pacific time zone this week
Los Angeles took some Ls this week. The Lakers and Kings were both eliminated from postseason action this week.
Edmonton won four straight against the Kings. They eliminate L.A. for the fourth consecutive year.
The Lakers took some heat for not subbing any players in the second half of Game 4. They ended up losing the series in five games, despite holding the higher seed over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Meanwhile, the Clippers enter a must-win Game 7 versus the Denver Nuggets, only a week after losing Game 4 on a last-second alley-oop. They play the Nuggets today at 4:30 PM. That series has been filled with confrontations.
In the Bay, the Warriors pulled their starters early in Game 5 loss against the Houston Rockers. Golden State followed that with a Game 6 loss at home on Friday. They will play Sunday at 5:30 PM.
Otherwise, the Vegas Golden Knights bounced-back against the Minnesota Wild. They won Game 6 of the first round. The Knights will face the Oilers in the next round.
More on the NFL Draft at the end of this newsletter, including a list of players drafted from the Pacific time zone.
PS - Sending the Oakland Legend love. Dame Lillard’s Milwuakee Bucks also got sent home by the Indiana Pacers. Lillard returned in the middle of the series, only to tear his Achilles.

NFL Draft Recap: West Coast Edition
The University of Oregon featured the most players drafted out of the Colleges in the Pacific time zone. They had ten players selected, the fourth most by any single school. UCLA had five, Cal had four and USC had three players selected.
Overall, California had 16 players drafted through all seven rounds. Five drafted players came from the State of Washington. Oregon and Nevada each only had one player from their state selected. That’s down from two players selected the last few years. California had 18 last year, while Washington only had two players selected.
Of course, these numbers change as some folks count hometown as place of birth versus others say it is where you played High School. I broke down most of the first round picks from the region last week. Here are some West Coast players from the rest of the NFL Draft:
