40+ Sports Headlines and Stories from the Pacific Time Zone this week
LA28 dominated headlines this week. The Los Angeles Olympics confirmed venues all across the region. These include Dodger Stadium, BMO Stadium, SOFI Stadium, Intuitt Dome, Crypto.com Arena, and more.
Meanwhile, NBA playoff action began. The L.A. Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors to get into the playoffs. Golden State beat the Grizzlies in the Play-in game. GSW secured a first round matchup with the Houston Rockets, while the Clippers will take on the Denver Nuggets. The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves.
GAME TIMES:
Clippers vs Nuggets at 12:30 PM on Saturday
Timberwolves vs Lakers at 5:30 PM on Saturday
Warriors vs Rockets at 6:30 PM on Sunday
Sacramento ended their season by losing to the Dallas Mavericks and Anthony Davis. The Kings said goodbye to their GM after fumbling their home play-in the game. It’s the third-time for the Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan duo. They lost in the play-in round when they were both with the Chicago Bulls too.
Moving to the NHL, the Vegas Golden Knights ended up sealing the Pacific division this week. They will take on the Minnesota Wild on Sunday at 7 PM.
Further, the Kings will take on the Edmonton Oilers for the fourth-straight year. Edmonton is favored as they eliminated the Kings the last six times they played in the postseason. Game One starts at 7 PM on Monday.
Otherwise, San Jose ended the year with the NHL’s worst record, again. They have the best odds to land the No. 1 pick in the NHL Draft. Seattle is not far behind. They opted to keep their General Manager, despite missing the postseason.
