The NHL and NBA postseason is in full-swing as the NFL Draft is underway.
Folks are finally taking notice of the Clippers. L.A. leads the Denver Nuggets 2-1 after a blowout Game 3 last night. The Clippers will welcome the Nuggets to Intuit again on Saturday at 3 PM.
Down the 110, the Los Angeles Lakers head to Minnesota tonight at 6:30 PM. They bounced back in Game 2, after looking lethargic in a blowout loss to the Timberwolves in the first game.
Golden State split their first games too. The Warriors captured Game 1 in Houston but lost Game 2. Jimmy Butler and Brandin Podziemski were both limited with injuries. They face the Rockets in San Francisco tomorrow at 5:30 PM.
On the ice, the Los Angeles Kings sit on a 2-0 lead over the Edmonton Oilers. Los Angeles made headlines with a Game 1 win at the buzzer. They go into Edmonton tonight at 7 PM.
Meanwhile, the Golden Knights are down 2-1 versus the Minnesota Wild. Vegas dropped Games 2 and 3 by three goals each. They will try to even the series in Minnesota at 1 PM tomorrow.
Servite and Michigan alum Mason Graham (DT) landed with the Browns with the No. 5 selection. His High School teammate receiver Tetairoa McMillan landed with the Carolina Panthers at 8. Both were the highest player drafted at their positions. They are the highest teammates ever drafted. McMillan will join fellow SoCal great Bryce Young in Carolina.
Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka, from Tacoma, WA., landed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 19. Seattle native Josh Conerly (OT from Oregon) was selected with the 29th pick by the Washington Commanders. Conerly also joins Jayden Daniels as West Coast natives with the Commanders. And the Chiefs made a San Diego native the last selection in the first round, tackle Josh Simmons out of Ohio St.
This year’s draft class featured no West Coast music in their walkout song playlist. The Rams traded out of the first round and Sean McVay joked about it.
Catch all the rest of the NFL Draft this weekend. Lots of folks from the West Coast are still on the board!
