20+ of the best sports news for West Coast fans this week
Anaheim will do anything for the postseason. This week, the Anaheim Ducks made headlines this week by hiring Joel Quenneville. Quenneville left his role with the Florida Panthers in 2021, after news of a scandal broke during his time with the Chicago Blackhawks.
In his opening press conference, Quenneville took accountability for his non-action when he was with the Blackhawks and a coach on his staff was accused of sexually assaulting a top prospect. Quenneville was banned from the NHL until July 2024. Anaheim hopes he can help their seven-season postseason drought. They also announced a massive renovation to the team’s home arena.
As for the current Stanley Cup race, only the Vegas Golden Knights remain. Vegas is trailing 2-0 after losing the first two home games to the Edmonton Oilers. The series heads to Edmonton for Game 3 tomorrow at 6 PM.
Speaking of the postseason, it all comes down to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA. Golden State won Game 7 over the Rockets and they will play the Minnesota Timberwolves for the third time tomorrow at 5:30 PM. Headed back to the Bay, the second-round series is currently tied at 1-1. Steph Curry is also dealing with an injury.
Despite Steve Ballmer flying out a bunch of fans, the Clippers got embarrassed in Game 7 versus the Nuggets. Former Clippers DeAndre Jordan and Russell Westbrook had an alley-oop that put the nail in the coffin for Clippers fans. The Clippers remain dedicated to their core, despite James Harden having a player option this offseason.

My sister’s Cal State San Marcos graduation is a month away, we celebrated at her Latinx ceremony last week. My youngest brother is also graduating from High School. Now, I get to watch Denzel Curry tonight and attend the beach with friends tomorrow. Either way, the new G Perico slaps!
