West Coast Baseball is king this week. Ken Griffey Jr. busted out his backwards cap at his Hall of Fame speech.
Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani won the MVP awards. Judge, a California native, won his second American League MVP. Ohtani won the National League award with the Dodgers this year. Ohtani has three MVP awards total. Last year, he won the American League version with the Angels.
Ohtani also took home the Designated Hitter Award for the fourth time. Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal is also from California.
If you’re paying attention to the NBA Cup, you should know both the Lakers and Warriors are undefeated in group play. They sit at 2-0. The Kings and Clippers both lost their only contests. More action goes on this week.
In the MLS, LAFC and the Seattle Sounders hit the pitch on Nov. 23 at 7:30 PM. LAFC dominated the season series. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Galaxy takes on Minnesota United at 3 PM on Nov. 24.
USC and UCLA face off at the Rose Bowl this Saturday. I’ll be there.
